Any chance of some of the source code of this being released?

Also, any possibility of an API for automated lookups?

All of the relevant code has been posted at AlliedModders. Releasing more won't be of much use, since the code used here was written with this semi-custom server environment in mind.

As for an API, is there anything specific you have in mind? Depending on what you wish to achieve, it might be better and faster for you to use Valve's own API.

You can now add steamID converter as a search plugin to your browser by clicking the magnifier icon in the footer.

It works for Firefox, Chrome and IE. I'll see if I can support more browsers later.

Thanks for reporting that. Unfortunately this is caused by a bug on Valve's part. I will notify them about this, and hopefully it will be fixed soon.

Luckily I could grab an image from my former host's VPS and restore the previous three messages and the missing statistics. That's also why my previous message about the bad news is gone.

I've added a function so a friendID/steamID64 is always returned when a steamID is given, and the other way around, regardless of SteamCommunity returning valid data or not.

use:
