A steamID is a unique identifier used to identify a Steam account. A steamID can be converted to a steamID64, sometimes referred to as community ID or friendID. With this steamID64, a user's Steam community page can be found. A customURL is an optional, more personalised identifier to look up a user's community page.
steamID converter is based on an algorithm that was first discovered by voogru. He posted about it on the Allied Modders forums.
